HOW ULTRASONIC CLEANING WORKS

Ultrasonic cleaning uses cavitation bubbles induced by high-frequency pressure (sound) waves to agitate a liquid. The agitation produces high forces on contaminants adhering to metals. Ultrasonic cleaning is especially useful for removing tightly adhered contaminants from intricate items with blind holes, cracks, and recesses. Contaminants include dust, dirt, oil, pigments, rust, grease, algae, fungus, bacteria, lime scale, polishing compounds, flux agents, etc.

SUITABLE FOR A VARIETY OF MATERIALS & APPLICATIONS

Ultrasonic cleaning is suitable for a wide variety of materials, including but not limited to Stainless-Steel, aluminium and copper. Water and wetting agents are used, depending on the material and type of contamination.

Ultrasonic cleaning can be used for a wide range of applications, sizes, and materials, and may not require the part to be disassembled prior to cleaning. SA Heat Exchange has an industrial ultrasonic tank with customised lifting equipment enabling cleaning of heat exchangers up to 3.2m long x 1.4m wide.
